About us

The Finnish Paediatric Society (FPS) was founded in 1930 by Professor Arvo Ylppö together with 15 other paediatricians to act as a national forum to address children’s health needs.

Today, the society has approximately 1000 members across the country and it plays a major role in professional interaction and continuous education among Finnish paediatricians and residents. In addition, the society participates actively in public dialogue on children’s and adolescents’ well-being and setting research priorities on the same. FPS have several active subspecialty subdivisions that arrange educational events and participate in generating position statements of the society.

The FPS is a non-profit organisation, whose activities and programs are funded through membership dues, continuing medical education activities and corporate partnerships.
